M. Steinert & Sons is pleased to have been selected to provide a new Steinway Model D concert grand piano for the new Calderwood Hall at the recently expanded Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum in Boston. The Gardner Museum is truly one of the city’s cultural gems, and is center for both visual and performing arts. The new Model D replaces a 27-year old Steinway (also provided by M. Steinert & Sons) that had previously been used in the Gardner Museum’s Tapestry Room.
You can read the Boston Globe’s report of the process of selecting the new Steinway Model D here.
All of us at M. Steinert & Sons wish the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum great success and many years of enjoyment with their new Steinway.

Acclaimed pianist and teacher Max Levinson, Steinway Artist, gave a remarkable master class at Steinert’s Thurs 8/5 with 4 exciting players: Rubin Zou 8, Andrew Li 10 (accompanied by brother George Li 14), and piano teachers Nathan Johnson and Irina Bazik. The audience of about 80 people were in rapt attention for 2 solid hours, while Mr. Levinson wove history, analogies of dramatic opera characters, and technical nuance to drive home his brilliant musical interpretations. Many area piano teachers and students were in attendance as part of Steinert’s exciting 150th anniversary celebration!
